Meeting the author

My name is Christina. For the last thirteen years I've watched and taken notes on the dos and do nots of parenting. You know, DO breast feed the first six months. DO NOT give your child honey before their second birthday. Nothing could have prepared me for the personalities and attitudes of my two boys. I've learned some very important lessons, always provide the cat with a room to hide, never ever EVER leave the baby powder in reach of your little one, buy power outlet covers and baby gates, I could go on...

Riley and Lucas came just sixteen months apart. And as of October 2012 Riley is two and a half and Lucas is almost fifteen months old. Now I have two little boys destroying their playroom and beating each other up daily. I literally spend half the day keeping Riley from beating up his little brother or Lucas from crying...for various reasons.

Together we dance, have screaming matches, sing our ABCs, practice colors, count to fifteen, jump on the trampoline, and watch the same movie three times in a row almost daily. They love peanut butter sandwiches and chicken nuggets and I love not having to cook until dinner time. On days I need a tan, I slather the boys up with sunblock and we fill up the perfect-sized blow-up pool from Wal-Mart with water and go for a swim or set up the sprinklers and run through the yard. When nap-time comes around Lucas likes to be left completely alone to go to sleep and Riley prefers to cuddle and hold my hand.

Overall, we're just another normal, okay, slightly dysfunctional, family who happens to prefer cowboy boots over heels and playing guns instead of dress-up. I hope the stories I share make you laugh, I hope you enjoy reading them, because I love being able to share.
